About Us
Our Mission
Infinite Hope is an all-volunteer IRS-approved 501(c)(3) not-for-profit rescue group, affiliated with Hope Veterinary Clinic, located in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Since its inception in early 2004, Infinite Hope has placed over 400 cats (and a handful of dogs and rabbits) into loving, permanent homes.
Our core group of concerned individuals volunteer their time and resources toward the cause of eliminating the problem of stray, unaltered animals in New York City. In addition, we have recently embarked on an initiative to offer temporary pet care for people experiencing personal crises such as domestic violence and homelessness. We are committed to a 100% “no-kill” philosophy and will not accept animals beyond our capacity to care for them.
While in our care, all of our animals receive high-quality food, shelter, positive
interaction with our volunteers and all necessary medical care, including: a
complete vet exam treatment for any parasites (worms, fleas, ear mites, etc.)
spaying and neutering (if 5 months of age or older)
testing for communicable feline diseases (FIV and FeLV).
We are fortunate to have a small adoption center at Hope Veterinary Clinic. Because we are a local, community-based group, we ask that anyone interested in adopting a new companion visit the adoption center and spend some time with the available animals, to ensure a good match for all.
Potential adopters are required to complete our adoption application; once an application has been approved, the adopter must sign our adoption agreement. If adopting a kitten or puppy under 5-6 months of age, the adopter must agree to spay or neuter once the pet is old enough for the procedure.
Additionally, we require a minimum donation of $150 per animal. This amount represents just a small fraction of the actual costs we incur for each animal under our care, and helps us to continue our ongoing efforts.
