There are so many opportunities to help make a difference in the lives of rescued animals at Infinite Hope!
You can help by donating funds directly, donating special skills or items from our wishlist, sponsoring a rescued animal, volunteering to work with potential adopters, socializing, or even fostering an animal! To volunteer for Infinite Hope, we simply require you to attend an orientation session and fill out a volunteer application. You can download the application here and email to: merylblackman@yahoo.com, or drop it by Hope Vet during regular office hours.
Become a Foster Caregiver
Fostering an animal provides necessary relief from the stress of confinement, helps with socialization, and greatly improves the quality of life and the animal’s chances of adoption into a permanent home. Fostering an animal can be long or short term–as little as 2 or 3 weeks in a foster home can make a huge difference! If you are interested in becoming a foster caregiver, please email merylblackman@yahoo.com to learn more. You will be asked to attend an orientation and training session, in which we will explain what a foster caregiver does, go over specific requirements, and answer any questions you may have about fostering. This is an opportunity for us to meet each other in person and determine if fostering is right for you. If you already have an animal in mind to foster, you can download the foster application and bring it with you to the orientation.
Adoption Volunteers
Greeters at Hope VetAdoption volunteers are a crucial link in the adoption process. We need outgoing volunteers who can devote a couple of hours on a weekend day to work as "greeters" at Hope Veterinary Clinic. Greeters talk to people who might be interested in adopting the cats, bunnies, and occasional dogs residing at Hope Vet. These volunteers learn the stories of each of the animals in order to let people know how they are special and what they may need from a new home.
Adoption Coordinators
We also need adoption coordinators to help screen potential adoptive families, follow up on submitted applications, and help with coordinating all aspects of the adoption process.
Socialization
Socialization is crucial to the health and happiness of the animals living in cages at Hope Vet–they need a chance to get out of their cages, stretch their legs and enjoy some playtime, pets and even a cuddle. Socialization Volunteers schedule time to come into Hope Veterinary Clinic to to provide exercise, socialization, love, and companionship for the animals waiting for foster and/or adoptive homes. Brief reports posted by the socialization volunteers are also extremely helpful to the adoption process, as it enables adoption coordinators to learn more about each animal's personality and habits, likes and dislikes–information that can be crucial in helping to make a perfect match with an adopter!
Fundraising and Publicity
Infinite Hope is looking for volunteers who are interested in fundraising. Grantwriters, event planners and people who would like to get involved in working on upcoming fundraising campaigns are especially sought after. This kind of help will enable us to expand our existing programs, and implement new proposed initiatves, such as providing foster homes or boarding for pet owners in emergency situations. If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please email merylblackman@yahoo.com to learn more. Thanks so much for caring about homeless animals!
